Checking Accounts Share Draft/Checking Accounts (share type 75) offer many special features and is one of the best financial bargains available. Dividends are paid quarterly, calculated on the average daily balance. No Monthly Checking Charges There is no monthly service charge for maintaining a Coosa Pines Federal Credit Union checking account and there are no per-check charges! Small fees apply for insufficient items, stop-payment orders, transfers of funds for overdraft protection and check photocopies. No Minimum Balance Requirement You can maintain any balance you wish as long as sufficient funds are on hand to cover all checks. No "NSF" Items with Overdraft Protection! You can avoid accidental "NSF" (insufficient funds) items when you arrange for automatic over-draft protection from your savings account. You are allowed six transfers per month (telephone or pre-authorized transfers). Overdraft Privilege (Courtesy Pay) Members who are eligible will be initially set up for a $300 courtesy pay line on their checking accounts. Courtesy Pay saves you the embarrassment of having a check returned and also avoiding the additional costs that merchants may charge for returned checks. Overdraft protection from shares will kick in before courtesy pay does. Should an overdraft occur, your account will be charged the standard NSF fee for handling each item, even if it is paid by the discretionary overdraft privilege. This is the same fee that Coosa Pines FCU charges for checks drawn against insufficient funds and returned to the payee. This service is an additional benefit of doing business with us. Automatic Direct Deposit is Available You may have your entire payroll check or government retirement/pension check deposited directly into your Coosa Pines Federal Credit Union checking account. Authorization forms for U. S. Alliance employees can be obtained at the credit union. Convenient Carbonless Duplicate Checks This account features carbonless copy checks, therefore the originals are not returned. A copy of the original check can be easily retrieved from our records at a nominal fee to the member. These carbonless copies provide easy record-keeping for comparisons and balancing your checking statement which is mailed each month. Your statement, combined with the carbonless copy you retain, is accepted by the IRS and courts of law as validation of payment made. Other Features You have unlimited check writing privileges. 24-hour account access is available through ATMs or by telephone with our Express Line. Deposits can be made at our Night Depository.
