Due to a change in regulation, Coosa Pines FCU will be phasing out non-expiring ATM cards by the summer of 2008. Traditionally, we have issued ATM cards that have an expiration date of "12/2049". These are considered to be non-expiring cards. These cards will now be replaced with a Coosa Pines Visa Debit card.
For members who have been using an ATM card for a share (savings) account only, the Debit card issued can only be used for withdrawals at an ATM. For members who have both a share (savings) and a draft (checking) account, the Debit card can be used for both ATM withdrawals and purchase or billing transactions.
If you have a non-expiring ATM card, Coosa Pines will issue a Debit card to you. Approximately one month after the card has been ordered, we will close your ATM card. If you have questions, please feel free to contact a Member Service Representative at any branch location

Internet /Email Phishing Alert from NCUA
Recently, there have been multiple e-mail fraud attempts, known as "Phishing", that were initiated via e-mail sent to both the general public and to some credit union members that appeared to be from NCUA.

Money Market Share Accounts
We are now offering a Money Market Share Account. This Money Market Share Account will be shown on your statement as Share Type 05. This is not a Money Market Checking account so no checks can be written from this account.
- This share type will pay monthly dividends.
- Rates will be declared monthly.
- Dividends are tiered as follows:

| $25,000.00 | $99,999 |
| $100,000.00 | and above |
- $2,500 minimum deposit to open the account
- A $5.00 minimum balance will hold unless the account is closed
- Members will be allowed three withdrawals/transfers per month at no charge
- Withdrawals/transfers in excess of three per month incur a $10.00 charge each
- Transfers to and from this account are allowed through audio and virtual branch
- Rates will be declared 1st of each month*

SpendEasy Visa Card
They are here! Our SpendEasy Visa Card is now ready for our members' use. It is a non-personalized card that is accepted anywhere Visa/debit cards are accepted. You can pre-load card up to $1000.00 for that special gift, vacation, to shop on line, or to carry during the Holiday Season. We offer free, live customer service support for lost or stolen cards. An 800# will be on the back of each card. Go by any of our branches for details.
Subject to applicable law, beginning the 7th month after the card is purchased; a monthly maintenance fee of $2.95 will be assessed to your card. This fee will be assessed to your card as long as there are funds remaining on your card.
USA Patriot Act
IMPORTANT UPDATE: In order to comply with the USA Patriot Act, effective October 25, 2002, CPFCU is required to verify the identity of members applying for and opening new accounts or services with the credit union. Information that we are required to obtain includes name, mailing and residential addresses, tax identification number, date of birth and a copy of government issued photo ID. Additional data may be gathered depending on the type of account opened. Data on existing members will be gathered as they open or use additional services offered by the credit union. The Act requires us to maintain records of identity verification and periodically update this information. Confidentiality of the information gathered by the credit union will be maintained as required under the Privacy Act.

The convenience of multiple branches across the country
Coosa Pines Federal Credit Union is affiliated with the Credit Union Service Centers network in order to offer convenient locations for our members to make transactions anywhere in the U.S. For a listing of locations coast to coast, visit the web site www.creditunion.net. At a Service Center (also called a shared branch) location, you will be able to perform transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, loan payments and transfers on your Coosa Pines FCU account(s).
Because Coosa Pines FCU is not the only credit union using these services, there are a couple of procedures that may be different from visiting one of our branches. Each time you perform a Service Center transaction, you will need to present:
- A valid state issued drivers license or state-issued non-drivers identification
- Your correct Coosa Pines FCU account number
Longer check holds may apply when you visit a Service Center
Effective March 1, 2008, funds may not be available for withdrawal until the fifth business day after the day of your deposit, depending on the type of check that you deposit. However, the first $100 of your deposit will be available on the first business day after the day of the transaction. If you will need the funds from a deposit right away, or have any questions regarding your account, you should contact any Coosa Pines FCU branch to speak with an employee regarding your transaction. Please remember that employees at Service Center locations can not release a deposit hold or answer questions regarding your account that are not related to your transaction or current balance(s).
Transactions performed at Service Center locations are subject to the fees, rules, policies, and procedures of the Credit Union Service Centers Network.
Soldiers' and Sailors' Civil Relief Act
If you are a member with the credit union, and a member of the Armed Forces called to active duty, please contact one of our loan officers for advice on putting your financial affairs in order. As a member of the Armed Forces called to active duty, you are entitled to certain benefits in regards to you financial matters. One of the major benefits is a reduction in the interest rates on outstanding loans obtained before your status was upgraded to "Active Duty".
